Dr. Romil Rathi is an Orthopaedic surgeon with keen interest in knee and hip joint replacement. He did his graduation (MBBS) from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical college, Wardha. This alma mater laid the foundation for his career as a medico. His grandmother suffered from rheumatoid arthritis and was bed-ridden for five years till she got her knees replaced and started walking soon. This was a turning point in the career of Dr. Romil, who initially wanted to become a physician, was determined to become an orthopaedic surgeon (Joint replacement specialist).
He did his Masters (M.S. Orthopaedic) from the Acharya Vinoba Bhave Rural Hospital, Wardha and post doctoral fellowship in joint replacement surgery at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital, Pune under the guidance of Dr. Mahesh Kulkarni and Dr. Hemant Wakanakar. There was no looking back after that.
Dr. Romil Rathi has been trained in USA, Italy and Germany. He was an Academic visitor in Adult Joint Reconstruction at Hospital for Special Surgery, New York, USA with Dr. Edwin Su. Here, he has also trained in Robotic Assisted Knee and Hip Replacement. He has completed prestigious SICOT International fellowship at the IRCCS Policlinico san donato, Italy under the guidance of Prof. Fransesco Benazzo.
Dr. Romil Rathi has trained in Revision knee and hip replacement surgery at the Helios Endo-Klinik, Hamburg, Germany with world renowned surgeon, Dr. Thorsten Gehrke. He has 8 international presentations and 13 publications in various International and National journals. He has been a guest faculty at annual conference of Indian Orthopaedic association (IOACON 2016) and also has been invited as speaker at Akashwani and All India Radio for live talk shows at numerous occasions.
Dr. Romil Rathi has great passion for his work and has pledged to make millions walk pain free. His grandmother remains his inspiration and he is committed to the service of humanity.
